Hannah has just accepted a position as Postdoctoral Scholar in the Inter-university Training for Continental-scale Ecology (ITCE) project, funded by NSF and based in the Department of Geology & Geophysics at the University of Utah. Hannah will extend her current work on marine isoscapes into terrestrial realms.

Nicole’s primary area of interest is clinical pathology of exotic species, especially aquatics, and its application to wildlife conservation. In addition to her diagnostic work, she is strongly interested in improving clinical diagnostics and understanding of pathophysiology in sea turtles.
The Beach Break Salon in Gainesville held a gathering to benefit the ACCSTR. It was a fun afternoon with great food. Music was provided by Doug Low. Thanks to Brenda DuVal, Annie Gartner, Jason Ferrante, and the wonderful staff at the Salon! Over $2500 was raised to support graduate student research.
The Development Board met on 2 November to initiate a fundraising campaign to raise $1.5M for an endowed professorship for the ACCSTR.

Karen and Alan visited Bahia, Brazil, in June and celebrated World Turtle Day on Archie Carr’s birthday on the 16th with their colleagues at TAMAR.
Ray is hard at work organizing the International Sea Turtle Symposium (ISTS) to be held in Baltimore in February. Over 1000 sea turtle biologists and conservationists are expected to attend.
Hannah successfully defended her PhD dissertation in July (Interpreting sea turtle trophic ecology through stable isotope analysis). Hannah will be starting a Postdoctoral Fellowship with the ACCSTR when she returns from the IsoEcol meetings in France where she presented a paper.
Natalie successfully defended her MS thesis in July (Diet characterization in immature, neritic green turtles, Chelonia mydas, using gut contents and stable isotope analyses).
