Satellite Telemetry Tracking Projects

The Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research (ACCSTR), has developed a number of satellite telemetry projects to determine the migratory and distribution patterns of sea turtles. The ACCSTR is using state-of-the-art satellite remote sensing technologies to evaluate sea turtle movement patterns and to identify environmental factors responsible for these patterns.

The following projects are underway:

Florida -- Movements of Juvenile Green Turtles.  This project is in collaboration with Walt Disney World Animal Programs (The Living Seas and Disney's Animal Kingdom)

The Bahamas -- Movements of an Olive Ridley Sea Turtle.  This project is in collaboration with Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas.
